>New blog logos!

Posted: 30/03/2009 in Uncategorized

>Hello friends! I got bored today. I finally brought a replacement for a broken mouse. I now have done a few quick logos for this site, but I want your opinion on what might look best. Here they are, in no particular order (note well, these will be in white on the top):

update 2 April 2009
Note: it is now a contest between “Seraphim” and “Clerica.” In the final image, “Seraphim” will probably be posted larger. Clerica will stay roughly the same size.

“Seraphim” it says “burnt out” and “from heaven” all in the same font!

“Seven Monkey Samurai”

“Red Lightening” a nice hand-writing type font.

“Clerica” it says “I’m so old skool I should be blogging by candlelight.”

“Bada boom” because theology is actually a lot like a comicbook.

“Anime Ace” same font I use in my webcomic dialogue.

Please comment on which one you like best!!

  1. Adam Goyer says:

    >Clerica or sephram (sp)

  2. Heidi says:

    >I like Clerica. Almost purely for the commentary on it.

  3. Q says:

    >clerica or seven monkeys samurai

  4. Biomusician says:

    >Clerica, Seraphim, or Red Lightning.

  5. Anonymous says:

    >Clerica for the win

  6. Caladain says:

    >The anonymous post was me, sorry.

  7. -k-anne- says:

    >You really shouldn’t have made this a global request on facebook because, you see, I date a design snob, and quite a bit of it has rubbed off on me. Hence:I would say seraphim, but its so cliche.:)

  8. Anonymous says:

    >Seraphim, seraphim, and seraphim are excellent choices – josiah

  9. Daniel says:

    >Seraphim is the best fit by far. Even though Heidi said Clerica, and she’s a graphic designer, she’s just voting based on your humor. I’m voting based on aesthetics. Take my word for it.

  10. Pianogrl says:

    >I like the style of anime ace but not really that it’s all capitals.. I guess either that one or Clerica which catches the eye more. Seraphim isn’t bold enough.

  11. Q says:

    >ok, I’m not voting twice, but I want to reiterate and comment. I don’t like seraphim; it’s too cliche. “Look, I’m a Christian hipster because I have a worn-out looking logo, which means, like, I’ve been through stuff, and stuff, so that makes me authentic (and stuff).” Maybe that’s a little harsh, but that’s what I see when I read that. Clerica seems to fit your personality. I sort of think “old-skool Catholic monk (in a good way, not a dirty corrupt Catholic monk … those bastards).” Plus, I could totally see you doing your blog by candlelight. So, in conclusion … go with Clerica.

  12. Jin-roh says:

    >Wow. Jeff is actually starting a mud-sling campaign here.I have always leaned towards Seraphim myslef, but cliches are bad. I did plan to size it larger to make it bigger…Anyway, I am going to leave this open again until tonight. It is now a contest between “Clerica” and Seraphim now. So if any of you fence riders want to make your choice between those two, you get to vote again.

  13. Q says:

    >Seraphim will raise your taxes in the midst of an economic crisis and make the housing promise worse! Plus Seraphim has no real experience. It’s a lot of “words” without any experience behind it. It just tries to look worn to cover up the fact that it never fought in the military, or have foreign policy experience.Clerica has been there. Clerica will fight for you … and has the scars to prove it. Clerica has 500 years of experience headlining letters and signing important documents. It was there when the declaration of Independence was sign. That says patriot! So in conclusion … I have no life, but you should still vote for Clerica.

  14. Jin-roh says:

    >Jeff, there’s a reason why we’re still friends nearly three years out of undergrad. The votes are in. Clerica wins.

  15. Ian says:

    >Red lightning. It looks simple and sincere.
